It's Official, I'm now the leader of a brand new sister chapter of Quilts For Kids

I got word today, that they approved me for starting up a sister chapter of Quilts For Kids here in Lincoln, NE.!!! How exciting,  now, any quilts that I or the volunteer quilters of the Lincoln chapter make, will be able to be donated to our own local hospitals,  including   Children's in Omaha.
So, if anyone has any items they would like to donate to the chapter, ( fabric, batting, binding, thread, a monetary donation to purchase needed supplies, etc.) to help us make quilts, that are distributed to  children in hospitals, shelters, etc. let me know, by emailing me at lincolnnequiltsforkids@gmail.com
I believe this will be an exciting adventure , and  I think I like where I'm headed!

The start of a great adventure!

My name is Ila and I recently learned about a wonderful organization Quilts For Kids that distributes quilts made and donated by quilters throughout the United States to sick children in hospitals or that are experiencing trauma in their life.
I thought this would be a great way to share my love of quilting and to help children at the same time. The non profit organization is headquartered in PA. but there are numerous sister chapters throughout the US that donates quilts on a local level as well. I checked but there were no chapters in the Lincoln area, nor was there any even in the whole eastern part of our state.
When I sent away for a kit from headquarters, I inquired about starting a  chapter here in Lincoln. I was to complete a pre cut quilt kit that they would send me, along with making another one like it from my own stash. Then they would check the finished quilts to see if my construction of the quilts I sent met the high standards that the organization expected from chapter leaders.
So, I am off to a wonderful new adventure in my life, and hope to soon be making a difference in a lot of other lives as well!
Here's the progress so far today! ! I was able to do three rows, and cut and sewed the four patches for the next three rows!
