Febr 2015 QFK Sew Day at the IQSCM

We held our sew day on Saturday Febr. 21, 2015 and had a fun day sewing quilts for children in NE hospitals. 

Thanks Barb, Barb B., Jane, Jeri, Kay, Kris J., Laura, Leslie, Lorraine, Peggy, and Rose for sharing your day with us and creating such splendid masterpieces!

I'd like to send a warm welcome to Rose F. and Jane C. for joining our qfk family of volunteers, sharing your day with us and making some adorable quilts too!

We had 21 completed quilts turned in and 15 tops! Whoo Hoo!


Thanks Carol E., a FCS teacher from West Boyd High School in Spencer, NE. for dropping off finished quilts her students completed! Awesome job students!


We also had a couple visitors stop by and take some kits home to sew, Thanks Jeanne A. and Kelly O. I sure hope you enjoy your kits and look forward to seeing them when done!


And a huge thanks to Kathy and Laura for the "ton" of kits you both cut for us from your own fabrics!

Update for Febr. Qfk Sew Day Post!

In my excitement to hurry up and post about how much fun we all had on Saturday, I had one of those slight "senior moments" and forgot to mention a couple things!

First, I really want to Thank Laura L. for the "ton" of kits she made from her own fabrics and brought for us!

And also, say a big Thanks to Leslie's husband Ted, for sitting behind the scenes, patiently waiting, while Leslie sewed with us!

February 2015 QFK Sew Day

Please join us this coming Saturday for our free QFK sew day to make quilts for children in Nebraska hospitals. 

We will be meeting on the 2nd. floor of the International Quilt Study Center & Museum. Please advise the receptionist that you are withLincoln Quilts For Kids and admission will be free. 
You may also attend the guided tour of the quilt galleries at no cost as well. 

Kits will be available to sew, and you can also pick up kits to take home, or return completed quilts.
If you have bright child friendly 100% cotton fabrics that you'd like to donate, we greatly appreciate it, and also 100% cotton backing fabric, or low loft batting is also much appreciated :)

Bring your own basic sewing supplies and machine. Ironing and cutting stations will be supplied. Please bring your own lunch, I will supply coffee :)

Looking forward to seeing everyone and their beautiful quilts you have been working on! Ila
