Awesome Quilts Received from Linda S.

Linda S. a chapter volunteer made these quilts  from her own fabrics and donated them to LQFK. Thanks so much Linda! They are all so cute, and I know the children that receive these quilts will surely smile and know that lots of love was sewn into these from you.

Lincoln Quilts For Kids Workshop

Lincoln Quilts For Kids Workshop
Lincoln City Library  (Anderson Branch - Community Room )
3635 Touzalin Ave.
Lincoln, NE.

October 22, 2011
1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

We Will be having a workshop to sew quilts, preemie items and bags. And  also cut and prepare kits for volunteers to sew

This workshop is open to the public, feel free to come and join us and get involved helping to put a smile on a child's face one quilt at a time.

There will be kits available to piece, which are fun and easy to sew even for beginners.

We do ask that you  bring your own machine and basic sewing supplies.
Fabric, mats, rotary cutters, and an iron will be provided.

If you have some bright kid friendly 100% cotton  or cotton flannel fabric that you have on hand, ( or would like to purchase new). And would like to donate it, to make kits with, you  can bring it to the workshop. Or contact Ila at lincolnnequiltsforkids@gmail.com

I realize that, there are quite a few very faithful and wonderful volunteers that live outside the Lincoln area, and so some may not be able to attend, but, I know that you will be there in spirit. If some of you have been planning  a trip to Lincoln, but havn't made the drive yet. This would b a perfect time to try to arrange to come and join in the fun!

Any questions feel free to email me (Ila) at the above mentioned email address.

Looking forward to a great day, and hope to see many of you there! Ila Geving
This is a public event, so anyone is welcome to come join in the fun! Hope to see you there.

This quilt and preemie pads all came from Linda S.Thanks Linda! You did a wonderful job on all of them, and I love your fabrics you chose for the preemie items. She sewed and quilted the bordered brick quilt from one of our kits. And then she used fabrics from her own stash to sew and quilt these really cute preemie quilts and a preemie pad!

All these came in the mail today! Such beautiful quilts!

First the mailman brought a package from Susan, containing a finished kit quilt! A very cute Scrappy 4 patch, that was made from some of the I spy and Alphabet charms that I had swapped awhile back in Stashbuilders Yahoo Group,  Thanks Susan,  it turned out really cute, and your quilting is beautiful too!

Then not too long afterwards, the UPS man showed up with a large box of quilts from Kathy K. that she pieced from her own stash, and then had Kristen, another one of our volunteers, quilt them. There were six child sized quilts, most with animals as the focus fabric, which are all really cute prints! One, a panel, is just darling! And the two little NICU quilts and preemie quilts, Kathy quilted herself! Thanks Kathy for sewing all those quilts with such love adorable fabrics! Thank you Kristen for doing such an awesome job of quilting, and also for donating your time and  talent to help bring so many smiles to those who sometimes don't have anything to smile about.

"Kitty and me, invite you to tea"

Although all are absolutely cute, I will have to say this one is my favorite! Those baby farm animals are so adorable, and this just makes me smile, and think of sipping on a big cold glass of chocolate milk, mmm, yum!!
